Server Down – Updated 6/7/2010

On April 5, 2010 my main web server crashed, due to a hardware failure. The Datacenter which hosts this server, has been extremely slow and unresponsive in getting this server repaired or replaced. They finally determined to replace the server, but stopped responding altogether after that decision was made.

Once the server is back up and running, I am going to transfer all the sites to a new Datacenter. I am really unhappy with how this situation has been handled.

I am going to keep this page as up to date as I can, so please continue to check here. The affected domains are listed below. I am working on setting up forwards from these domains to this page, until the server is back up and running. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Thank you

April 22nd – 2 more escalation notices were sent to the Datacenter’s Management on the 21st. We still have not gotten a response from the Datacenter or their Management. I am already working on getting another host solution in place. The real problem here, is that this Datacenter has our backup data, but once they get it restored, I will be ready to move away from them.

April 30th – The Datacenter has a new server up and running, and they have all of our backup data in the drive waiting. Now we are just waiting on a KVM to free up, so they can connect it to the server, allowing us remote control of the machine. Once the KVM is online we will be able to start restoring the data.

May 4th – The KVM has been connected, and the restores have begun. Finally!! The restore has been running for about 9 hours and has copied 20GB (out of 150GB), so it is going slow, but at least we are making progress.

May 5th – I have all of the email, which was on the server at the time of the last backup (3/31/2010). The rest of the data is still restoring, but I hope to have it downloading, sometime today. *UPDATE* Ok, so the files are still getting restored. It is taking a lot long that we had thought it would. At last check (around 3pm EST) we were up to the N’s (going alphabetically). In other words, it i still going to be a while longer, but at least we are still making progress. I can almost see a light at the end of that tunnel.

May 6th – We have officially been kicked back a step. Last night the Datacenter removed the LiveCD we had this server booted up with. This means that the restore stopped dead, and will now have to be started over again, once we can get them to put the LiveCD back into the server >.<

May is back up and running! & are in bound. Texas FBA is still waiting on a full system backup restore to complete. I have the Databases, I am just waiting on the files now.

June 7th – Well, I have given up trying to get the rest of our data restored. I have located an older backup of TFBA’s Database, and I am rebuilding the site using this backup SQL File. has been rebuilt from scratch and has been fully restored & upgraded.
